Today started out rough. I dreamed last night that I had eaten a bunch of donuts. I woke up so upset that I had ruined my calorie count for the day. I was relieved to find out it was just a dream!!! Funny thing is, if I were to ruin my diet it wouldn't be by eating donuts...LOL.
This morning, and all day, I was pretty much in a funk about my surgery. I just want this knee fixed so I can move past it!!!
We had another birthday party to go to today. I had a moment of panic when I realized my friend Kris made her world famous spinach dip!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the stuff. Now THAT would be a food of choice to blow my calories on. LOL I did as I had over the last few parties. I got a plate, put a little bit of each thing I wanted on my plate, ate it, then threw the plate away. It was SO hard to not get 2nds. When everyone was standing around munching, I had some pieces of fruit. I had a small piece of birthday cake and a scoop of ice cream.
THEN....when we got home, our Girl Scout Cookies were delivered!!!!! ACKKKKKK!!!! I like cookies, but don't love them and can usually avoid them. However, the Caramel Delights are my favorite cookie in the world!!! I had 3, plus one of each of two other flavors. That was a quick 350 calories! That is ok. I stopped at that which was a good thing.
I took a long ass nap. Then, I woke up, and got dressed for a run. My Nike+ came today so I had to give it a try even though I haven't calibrated it yet. It was within 200 yards (to long) though....not bad. According to the Nike +, I did a 5k in 38:39 in my hilly neighborhood. It equated to a 12:20min/mile pace. Then, I grabbed the dog, and walked a mile.
My legs were a bit sore, but SOOOO much better. I think skipping the big hill in my neighborhood and the new shoes did the trick. I ran in the Nimbus's today because of the blister on my arch from my Adidas'. They were not nearly as bad as I thought they would be for running (cushion wise.) That is good because now I can run in both without worries.
Afterwards, I had no appetite, so I drank my Boost and that was it. So, cookies and Boost turned out to be my dinner...LOL That is ok, it makes me fairly on for calories today.
I feel better after exercising. I now have a new goal and that is to run a 5K, whether it be just a race or on the treadmill, by my surgery on March 1st. There is a 5k on February 16th. I am considering it. I think another month of training might get me there. I don't want to do it unless I can finish under 35:00. I don't think that will be a problem 4 weeks from now.
Day 19 - 4 miles
---------------
6pm- 3.13 miles (uncal. Nike +) in 38:39.....12:20min/mile pace
1 mile walk with the pup
very rough est. 1750 calories

Sounds like a great day overall. My Girl Scout Cookies are due to arrive any day now. I've been known to hoard Thin Mints in my freezer. They don't last long around here. :)
Good job on the birthday party snacking. That's always tough. I like to hang out by the food, so it doesn't matter if I have a plate or not.
I hope you get to run the 5K. I'm sure you'll get that race-day motivation and beat 35:00.
you done good. being able to stop after just a few girl scout cookies is an accomplishment. :)
I have a sweet tooth that will not stop until my belly is full. It's horrible. I think that's why I run so much, so I can eat! Good job on exercising your will power. And on your run through the hills. Does it hurt to run when your ACL is in need of repair?
I've been wanting a Nike+ so bad! Let me know how you like it. Good luck on that 5k!
What a wonderful self control you have! Good job getting out there today!
Anyways, with regards to your question,I had few surgeries this past summer because they needed to put a tube in my arm for my weekly dialysis because my lidneys are no longer functioning properly. 1st was on my neck temporarily b/c they could not put in on my arm right away, then to my left arm. After only a few weeks, the tube on my arm got clotted so they temporarily put it back on my neck "again." then they had to fix that tube on my left arm and add another tube on my right arm just in case the tube in my left arm gets clotted again. I hated those days but I got over it and I believe so will you so don't think so much about it.
