OK, gotta admit my downfalls. Last night, I was looking forward to my free weekly meal. We had Chinese food. It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't finished it off with them damn Caramel Delights. (Yes, they were hissing at me again.)
It got worse.
This weekend is the first weekend in about 2 months that we had NOTHING planned. My 4yr old and I went to the video store and chose 6 movies to watch this weekend. We figured we'd spend the weekend in as a family, catching up on some movies. What is a good movie without munchies? Well, you know the rest of the story.
I have a plan to make up for today. I am adding in a day of exercise. It will probably be a brisk walk as to not overdo it. I also vow to skip my free meal next weekend to help make up for it.
The good news! The Caramel Delights are gone....LOL
All joking aside...
Feeling like I had to make up for my snacking today, I figured I would do a little more than my typical 5k. I only planned on doing 4 miles. I ended up doing about 5.5miles!!! Even better, I did it at a 12:09min/mile pace! That is about my typical overall pace, but to do over 8k instead of 5k at the pace was an accomplishment. I guess all the snacking gave me lots of energy...LOL. I burned just over 1000 calories.
I had fun. The lap around my neighborhood is .8 miles. On lap 2, one of the neighbors said good job, he couldn't even do one. I was secretly smiling when I passed him the 6th time. I think the comment he made actually pushed me to do more.

Jenn! That is so totally awesome. :)
Way to go on the running 5.5 miles, burning 1000 calories, and doing it well.
When I went to my last WW meeting, I was reminded of not making myself feel guilty for eating something extra like a cookie. Build it into your calories for the day. Or do what you did and go farther in your exercise and earn it.
And most importantly, don't make yourself feel guilty for eating it. :)
Way to go, Jenn! 5.5 miles is such a great accomplishment. Keep it up!
As someone who just polished off the Carmel D'lites in this household, I totally get where you're coming from.
In the future something that works well is 1/4 cup of unpopped popcorn in a brown paper lunch bag with the top folded down in the microwave for about 2:30. You don't need oil or those expensive microwave bags of pop corn - just good old pop corn in a lunch bag.
It gets me through a lot of afternoons. ;)
Good job on the 5.5 miles - I can honestly say it keeps getting better each time you hit those milestones.
You go, girl! That is a sweet run. Keep it up.
That's awesome! Good for you. I've been eating like crap this weekend, too. I made brownies and ate 4 of them!
