N E V E R-A G A I N !!!

...well maybe not NEVER. Usually on Saturday's I run in the evening right before sunset. We have a party to go to tonight, so I knew I had to run this morning instead. My husband had 24 hour duty yesterday and didn't get home until 8am this morning. After he got home, I threw my stuff on and went. I was excited to try out my new headphones.

Did I ever mention how much I hate heat? Guam is hot year-round. During my workout today at around 9am, it was about 80 degrees an 80% humidity. That is just killer to me...LOL. I am the 'ice queen' as my husband has called me for years. If it never got above 60 degrees, I would be in heaven! What is even scarier, is this is Guam's 'winter'...LOL!!!

So, it was TOO DAMN HOT for me today. That combined with lead legs and it made for a horrible workout. I felt worse than I did on day 1, although I ended up doing more miles than I could back then. I ALMOST quit after 2 miles because I was SOOO hot. I grabbed myself some Gatorade and pushed on. I figured that I would get in my workout even if it meant walking, for calories sake. I did a lot of walking today...LOL.

It took me 40 minutes to do a 5k today. I ended with 4.11 miles in 55:08. Craptastic!

I will say I am SO proud of myself for finishing, despite walking so much. I knew I would regret it all day if I had quit at 2 miles or even if I quit at the 5k mark. Next time I am forced to run so late in the morning, I will be getting in my car and heading to the gym instead...LOL. Did I mention I hate being hot???

The rest of the day should be nice. Looking forward to food and friends this evening :)

P.S. The headphones stayed in REALLY WELL!!! They did not fall out once. My old $20 JVC's sound better than this new $40 pair, but those were constantly falling out! So, I give these an A+ for staying in, and a C- for sound quality.

Day 33 - 4.11 miles 55:08
Calories = no comment!

Congrats on getting out there and running even in the midst of heat! I don't get along too much with heat and the sun either that is why I do my runs mostly at night. Keep it up!
