A goal really helps!!!

Now that I don't have that goal of a 5k, I feel like I am wandering aimlessly!!! It wasn't as big of a deal to me to not run for 3 days. Yeah, it sucked, but at least it didn't interfere with training for a goal. After surgery, I am going to be sure to always set a goal. It has only taken me 4 days to realize the importance of having one!

Got to the gym this morning and was really looking forward to my run. I did a 1/4mi walking warm-up and started running. Today, I really wanted to run 3+ miles without walking. I was SOOOOOOO close to quitting at 2 miles. So close that my finger was hovering over the speed button! I told myself that I refuse to quit, because I know I can do more.

What a mental game running is!!!

I told myself I was going to at least make it to 3.36 miles. (A 5k plus my 1/4mi warm-up.) Then, I knew I wanted to go for a distance personal record of running without walking. I made it to 3.75 miles! So....I ran 3.5 mi without stopping. :) That also means I ran about 39min straight! I walked for a minute, then decided to go for my 4 mile PR. I was running at 7.5 mph at one point...LOL. I finished right around 46 minutes!!!!

So.....it was a great run today :)

I want to thank everyone who reads my blog and constantly gives me encouragement and support. It really means a lot to me and really helps me to keep on going. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!!

Day 57 - 4mi in 46min :)

I believe that haing a goal helps. That is why I'm looking for another race to sign up to over the next month or so. But this time, I'm looking for a shorter one so I won't hurt so much.

Anyways, Nice run and I love your will power and mental strength.
