Day 49 Sucks

No, I have not fallen off of the face of the earth. I have just been really bad. BAD, I say.

I have not run since Wednesday. I intended to take Thursday and Friday off to finish preparations for my son's 5th birthday party. The plan was to run Saturday, take Sunday off (Eric had 24hr duty), run Monday & Tuesday, take Wednesday and Thursday off, and then Friday is my first 5k!!!

To make it worse, I have eaten HORRIBLE since Friday. Friday was the party, then the leftovers were staring me in the face all weekend and I did not resist them. I probably gained a couple pounds over the weekend!

Oh, it gets worse. I woke up this morning, planning to get the kids to school and get my ass to the gym for a run. Instead, I woke up to my youngest complaining of a belly-ache and my oldest complaining of a sore throat. THEN my oldest threw up!!!

I am going to try and still get a run in tonight after my husband gets home from work. The kids have sports practices, if they are feeling better, so it may prove difficult. However, with that 5k Friday I feel I HAVE to get a run in today.

What IS kinda cool is I am craving running. Yesterday I ran down the hallway in my house because I WANTED to run...LOL!

A few comments on Andy's party. It was WAY to much work and cost WAY to much money for the 3 hours it lasted. NEVER AGAIN...LOL!!! After the party was over, my husband accidentally knocked our camcorder off the counter and onto the floor! The DVD that was in it, popped off the little circle thing it pops onto. Now, I cannot finalize the DVD in the camcorder and my computer is saying the disc is 0 bytes!!! I am so upset because it had all the birthday events on it. Andy turning 5 is hard enough on me without losing all that video to look back on. :o( The camcorder actually seems fine. It will format and record on a brand new disc. The problem seems to be with the disc that was in it when it fell. If ANYONE knows anything about this sort of stuff. HELP!!! I can see the write lines on the disc.....so SOMETHING has to be on there. The camcorder is a DCR-DVD105 if that helps anyone.

I believe we all have those days! I couldn't resist overeating on sushi today, too.
Eveyday is a new day like they always say. Just forget about the past and move on.

I wish I had tips about fixing that DVD, but I'm sorry I don't. After my older kids turned 4 I think I swore off elaborate child parties. Too much work and it wasn't for them, it was always for the other parents. Forget it! Now we have simple parties with cake, ice cream and maybe pizza or sandwich fixins from Costco. We don't even give goody bags anymore. And the kids still have a blast!

Jenn, don't sweat not running for a few days. It happens to us all. For me this week it was the flu, it attacked my hubby, the baby, and then me. Just roll with the punches and run again when you can. Keep smiling!
