4 mile run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did it! I ran 4 miles without walking this morning!!! I am so excited. I always told myself that I wouldn't feel like a runner until I could run 4 miles without walking. Well, today I did it. Not sure I feel like a runner yet though...LOL

Superbowl Monday was yesterday. I decided to partake in the Superbowl food. It was the first day in over a month that I "cheated" other than on a Friday evening. I am not sure if it was worth it. To tell the truth, it kinda scared me. I am so determined not to fail yet I felt a sense of failure last night. I am back on track today. I think I MAY try and skip this Friday's cheat meal to help make up for it. I know that it is ok to have days like yesterday once in a while. I just can't comprehend that yet.

Sunday- 1mi walk w/ dog
Monday - 1mi walk w/ dog & kids
Tuesday - 4.5 miles on treadmill - 4mile distance & time PR - 45:35! (11:24min/mi)
1mi walk w/ dog

.............
Week 5 miles : 17
--------------------
2008 miles total : 86mi

Congratulations. That's an amazing feat. I stumbled across your blog via a forum post. I'm 19 year old brit who also had post-op compartment syndrome after having a tumour removed from my hip and bone taken from my leg to graft into my pelvis I got serious compartment syndrome which was masked by an epidural and no drain in my leg. I had 7 operations for severe muscle tissue and nerve damage. They had to remove complete muscles and 10 months on I'm still on crutches and have no feeling below my bent ankle. The good news is I'm in remission from a very rare cancer so I can't complain about being ungrateful, even if I do feel bitter. Anyway, well done on the run, you should truly be proud of yourself. Compartment syndrome of any type is a chronic problem, it felt like an elephant was standing on my leg for 8 hours. I'm just happy to have come out of it with my leg attached. I did have a blog but, well, I really lost all belief and balance with myself so I haven't written in it for a long time.

All the best with the family and photography, Simon.
