Migraines suck :o(

*warning: whining ahead*
I tend to get a migraine every 10-14 days. It sucks. I hate it. It is especially hard to deal with on a weekend, when the kids are home, and when my husband has 24hr duty. I feel so horrible having to have them play in their room because mommy needs to lay in bed and not move. I am sick of having wasted days because I am laid up with a migraine.

Last week, I had a doc appointment to get my regular thyroid check. In our conversation, my migraines came up. I told her how the migraine medicine I was prescribed doesn't help. I mentioned how a chiropractor and Vicodin are the only two things that I have found to take the pain away. Luckily, one of my good friends here is a chiropractor. She can magically make the migraine go away within 5 minutes of an adjustment. On occasion, I've had to take a Vicodin which I still from my knee surgery 10 months ago. Those aren't something I want to have to take for every migraine.

She ended up giving me a new medicine to try. Today was the first time I took it. I'd say it was 70% effective. It definitely took the edge off. However, I don't know if it is the medicine or the pain from the migraine that made me feel totally run over today. I seriously felt like I had been put through the ringer. I still was having to lay in bed.

I am just so sick of these migraines. They always start with me getting instantly tired. Exhausted, gotta lay down right this minute tired. I know a migraine is about to hit when this happens. What is weird is they always seem to start around 1pm. I am fairly certain they are caused my something in my neck, which is why my friend the chiropractor can make them go away. There is always the same spot sticking out, as she says.

Anyways...whine whine whine. I hope I feel better for my run in the morning. On a more positive note, I have been very successful with my eating so far. I've had no problems taking Friday evening "off" and being back on track all weekend. :o)

Friday - 5mi walk (3.5 w/ a friend, 1.5 with the dog)
Saturday - 1mi walk w/ dog
Sunday - 1mi super slow walk w/ dog & boys
