1st Day at School on Concerta

I just picked Kaden up from school. His student teacher said he was a totally different kid! She said she wished all the students were as good as Kaden was today!!!!!!! What a great report :)

I commented to his teachers how shocked I was at how well he can actually read. It is AMAZING how his reading has improved 1000% overnight. Before, he only showed us he could read simple words like and, the, cat, dog, them, what...etc. His teachers said he read the name of the book before they even sat down with it!

Both his teacher and his student teacher said they saw signs of the Concerta wearing off in the afternoon. His attention was more sporadic. I asked them if they could keep track, so that we can let the doctor know when we see him in a month.

The best thing of all was how PROUD of himself Kaden was when I picked him up. He kept giving me high fives after he told me the great things he did.

Today I went out to lunch with a friend. Afterwards, we went to the Humane Society and volunteered walking dogs for a little while. There was this one coonhound mix who has a broken hip. They almost put her down, but one of the employees begged them not to. They are trying to raise money for her surgery. They still need $600 more. Anyways, she was the SWEETEST thing. She just wanted to run, but it's not good for her. They asked us to take her and put her in her kennel. We did and two seconds later she OPENED THE GATE LATCH. LOL! She just ran out and rolled around in the grass. We sat there petting her for a good 15 minutes just to give her some extra love.

I think I found a new love. Crystal Light Slurpees!!! They are only 4 calories per ounce. We had one after our soccer game yesterday, and I couldn't help but get another today!

Speaking of soccer...yesterday's game kinda sucked. We lost 3-0. I missed several shots I should have made. It was if I was aiming for the goalkeeper! My knee is KILLING me today. It is pretty swollen. Walking those bigger dogs in flip-flops didn't help matters. I figure it will take a couple games for my knee to get used to the soccer again. I hope one day I can play without the brace. I hate that thing!
