"Inclement Weather"

It's been an interesting few days. Remember the sleet I ran in on Monday? Well that caused practically the whole city to shut down! The base was closed, the boys' school was closed, and the university was closed. Everyone had the day off. The thing is, there wasn't ANY snow on the ground!!!!!! Sure, the roads were a bit icy, and it was cold, but that is IT!

Now, I am from Colorado. Not only would we have had school, we would have had recess. As long as the buses would start, school was pretty much never cancelled. It takes A LOT for them to cancel schools in Colorado. Think white out blizzard. My family got a kick out of it when I sent them a pic of the un-snowy backyard and told them the city was all but shut down. LOL!

Know what the worst part of it was? School was cancelled AGAIN on Wednesday...LOL!!! Gotta love Texas.

The boys went to their martial arts class on Wednesday. Both tested for and received their 1st stripe on their belts. They were so excited :) That really seemed to spark something in Kaden. Hopefully the class will really help him with his focus and discipline.

So, I didn't get my run in on Wednesday because of the icy streets, and because the boys were home with me. I probably should have done it yesterday, but I had my painting class in the morning, and a migraine afterwards.

The painting class was a lot of fun, and the 3 hours FLEW by. I am still a little intimidated, but hopefully I will pick up on it fast. I am hoping my paintings at least halfway look how I intend them to look. We actually start painting on Tuesday!

This morning, I ran the Week 3, Run 2 of the C25k. My pace was better than Monday's, and I am happy about that. I can still feel some of that damn migraine from yesterday. As soon as I got home, I took some medicine for it. Hopefully it will not ruin another day. Tomorrow I will probably do Run 3, even though I know I won't want to...LOL! I have to make up for missing Wednesday.

Shoes. I really should buy new ones. I am on my 4th pair of Asic's Gel Nimbus'. I am starting to feel my posterior tibial tendon getting angry with me. LOL. NO shin splints, though! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I had that compartment syndrome surgery almost 3 years ago. What a difference it has made in my life!

PUPPY! We are SERIOUSLY considering getting a 2nd dog. The boys are OBSESSED with dogs. Their world revolves around them. LOL. This next dog will be 'theirs.' They will walk her, feed her, pick up after her...etc.

Our girl, Kermie, is 8yrs old. We have had her since she was 6wks old. We actually got her when we were stationed here last time. She is the best dog! She is 1/2 beagle, 1/4 lab, 1/4 chow. We are really hoping to find a beagle/lab mix again.

Hopefully, we can find a 6-8wk old pup. Kermie is old, and can be bitchy to other dogs at times. We need one super young that we can raise around her. She does better with female dogs than male, so we are for sure looking for another girl. There are breeders out there that breed beagle/lab mixes, but we are hoping to find one for much cheaper than a breeder price.

Well, that's it for now. :)
