I have to brag about my husband. He is so darn smart and makes me so proud!
He is an HM1/E6 in the Navy, and this is his 3rd time up for Chief (HMC/E7.) For those that don't know, Chief is a HUGE jump in the Navy. They wear different uniforms, carry a whole new set of responsibilities, and earn a lot of respect. First, you take a test. If you make the minimum cut-off score, your service record goes before a board and is scored.
Well, he made board again, and scored a 78.9 on the test! The max is 80 and not many people even score in the 70's. The average score this time around was 56.23.
I am just so proud that he never settles for the minimum and tries to get a perfect score even though test scores don't matter much once you make board. He scored a 79.17 on last years exam and on his E6 exam he had scored a perfect 80. My husband is so incredibly smart and I hope my kids inherited his extra-smart genes!
This is his 3rd time the board will look at his record. Hopefully in a month or so I can explain to everyone why I think he has a great shot at making Chief this year :) We won't find out until the end of July or early August if he made it or not.
Stay tuned and keep your fingers crossed! Some good friends of ours also made board so keep your fingers crossed for them, also!

I've got my fingers (and toes) crossed for hubby. I'm waiting for an excellent report. :)
Tell you hubby FANTASTIC JOB! Congratulations to him for such a great score, and to you for supporting him! I'm sure you'll be referring to him as Chief in your blog very soon.
