I did 3 miles Monday. Tuesday night, I did 2mi at about 9pm just to avoid waking up at 5:30am. It was extremely painful to run and I had a painful pulling sensation in the area of my posterior tibial tendon. (The same area that has been bothering me lately. I think it is posterior tibial tendonitis instead of achilles tendonitis.) It was really painful walking around on Wednesday. By Wednesday night, I didn't even want to walk the dog, because our neighborhood is hilly and it was bothering me so much.
I told my physical therapist about it and he gave me a couple stretches. He seemed to agree about my posterior tibial tendonitis diagnosis. It was still pretty sore yesterday, so I decided to skip today's run. I also put myself on a Motrin diet for a few days to see if it helps. I hope to be ready again by Monday!
I've also dumped the 10K training plan and am just going to be running by how I feel. I built up mileage ok on my own before surgery. I can do it again without a schedule. That schedule was just too much for me.

I'll have to try that diet. take care.
I've been struggling with the same thing for a few weeks. I was worried about running with it, but the stretches and strengthening exercises do help. Just be patient and try to do some short slow runs if you can. Keep up the good work!
How does Motin Diet work??? I'll have to give that a try one of these days!
Anyways, get well soon and heal well!
How's it going? Hope you are feeling better.
Jenn, it is so great that you are able to recognize the symptoms of too much too soon, and that you chucked the schedule. Heal, and take it easy. Running will ALWAYS be there.
